C Boys vs Hougang Sec

The boys were exhilarated and they had reason to be. They trashed the team from Hougang Sec by a wide margin. The score was 85 vs 24. I wished I was there to witness it but my daughter was sick so I had to be home with her.

Mr Chan was pleased but he felt that although the team had won, there was still a lot of areas that needed sharpening. His analysis for the match was that the centre was strong and when the group was leading, the confidence level went up and the boys were able to perform at their optimal. It was again a psychological test; One that is of the mind. That said, he still recommends more training and discpline in the players. Nevertheless, it was a great morale booster.

Our Sec 1 boys again exceeded our expectations by delivering a great performance .Even Mr Chan was impressed with their skills and discipline. They won the game without any effort and looked set for greater achievements. Keep it up juniors!

Sec 1 friendly match

The Sec 1 boys gave us a pleasant surprise that day. They easily took down the team from Nan chiau Sec within a mere 20 mins. Our Sec 1s were agile and quick-thinking, but most importantly they were focused and made good use of every opportunity that presented itself to score. The camaraderie between the players was also an important factor in their win.
You have shown great potential. I look forward to more exciting matches from you!

C boys VS Nan Chiau High 13/02/09

Mr Chan briefing our boys before the match
Our Sec 1 basketballers

The match started about 3pm and it was doomed from the start. The Nan Chiau players were disciplined, focused and in complete control. Our team on the other hand, gave a lacklustre performance, one totally lacking in confidence and team spirit. They were defeated even before they began, in their minds. There was no fight at all.
The team needs to build themselves up in a few areas; they need to believe in themselves but in order to do so, they must master the skills 1st which will in turn lead to an increase in confidence. They need to synergise as a team but to do so they need to know their team members well and help each other. They need to be more reflective and respond to situation instead of reacting (putting blame on others instead of seeing where you have gone wrong). This will in turn lead to more cohesion and quality performance.
Discipline + Skills + Right mindset + Right Attitude + Teamwork = Champions!
I hope to see them having all the above in their training sessions and coming matches. All the best for your match against Hougang Secondary this Thursday!
