Evening out with my daddy

I woke up at 7.55 and I ate pau for breakfast then I showered by myself. I packed my school bag and did my school work then we went to school. We went to the hall and pulled out the tape from the floor then we had our assembly. After that we went back to our class to do our work then we went for Chinese lesson in the Chinese room. Then we went to the English room before we had our lunch of porridge. After lunch I played 'Army' with Branson and Clement. After that we went to the Music room and Reet gave everyone stickers. Then we went to K1 Music room to wait for our parents to pick us up. My daddy came to pick us up today because it was raining.

After we went home, we had our snack and Yakult then we took our nap. After we woke up, we had sushi for our dinner then we went downstairs for a swim. It was fun although it was drizzling. After that we went back and we went to Compasspoint to cut my hair. We went to buy toys and I bought a Yoyo because I promise daddy that I will do my Abacus by Friday. Meryl bought a Pony set and she must learn to read 10 words everyday. I was very happy to have a super Yoyo at last. Then we went to our old house to collect our letters.

Girls' friendly Match with Nan Chiau High

Hi gals and guys! Hope your holidays has been great so far. Sorry that I have not posted anything for a long time. My Imac is down and my photos also cannot be uploaded and are still stuck in my Nokia. I have also been busy and occupied with my 2 kids. So my many apologies.

Here are some good news for the girls. You will be able to pit your skills against the girls from Nan Chiau High this Tuesday 23 June, 2-5pm in our school. Despite the fact that our girls are mostly petite in size (like me!!) I believe that they have the tenacity and determination to do well (which is more important ). Anyway it would be a good opportunity to test your skills and have fun at the same time. Winning is secondary. So see you there!

Upcoming Trainings

There will be training this coming Friday 17 April from 2-5pm for all. Next week will be the last week of training before all CCAs stand down for exams.

Next Tuesday, the girls will also have training from 3-6pm and Friday, 2-5pm. Mr Chan said that it will be getting tough for the girls as they need to start serious training for competitive reasons.

Remember that we not only need to build ourselves up physically, we also need to start to exercise our brain power, especially in view of the upcoming Mid year examinations.

My apologies for not posting up the videos of the recent match yet as I am still learning how to use my new computer. You will have to wait for a while to see the videos and pictures. BTW, the boys won Riverside last Tuesday, 24:21 but lost to Canberra on Thursday 23:33. It is my hope that now that they have more experience under their belt, they will do much better in the next round of competitions. Jia You!

Basketball training 13/03/09

The Assistant Coaches monkeying around
Today is the last day of Term 1 and the girls will be having a rest during the holidays. However they have been given a task; Hee Lin will be helping to revamp the notice board. Those who have ideas to contribute please be there on Tuesday afternoon to help in the decoration of the Notice Board.
Btw the C boy's match with Bedok View was a win albeit they were lagging behind initially. The score was 49 : 47, a narrow victory. Mr Chan expressed disappointment at the boy's lack of confidence at the beginning of the match which saw them losing by a huge gap of 20:10. Fortunately, the boys were able to play catch-up and win the game. Reaching the top will still be a long-drawn process for them but then again, nothing is impossible. Jia You!

Friday Training 06/03/09

Please note that training is as usual for the Sec 1s this Friday, 6/03/09. Remember to drink at least 500 ml of water half an hour before training.

Good Effort C Boys!

It turned out better than we hoped. The boys lost by only a 20 over points margin as compared to the previous time when our school played against them. From the start, winning the game was a far-fetched idea as our opponent is one of the best in the zone. Our boys were aware. The main purpose was for the experience.

Mr Chan was pretty pleased with our boys' performance especially in their defence that day. He cited a few boys for showing good improvements; Tyrone, Aloy, Danial and YuJing. Hope they will continue to improve in their techniques and teamwork.

Btw, Danial fractured his toe during the match. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Basketball training Notice 27/02/09

Please be informed that training will be as usual this Friday from 2-5pm for those in Basketball. Sec 1 and 2s report to Mdm Low and if you are unable t turn up for whatever reason, please inform me PERSONALLY. Remember to bring at least a 500ml water bottle and drink it half an hour before training starts.

C Boys vs Hougang Sec

The boys were exhilarated and they had reason to be. They trashed the team from Hougang Sec by a wide margin. The score was 85 vs 24. I wished I was there to witness it but my daughter was sick so I had to be home with her.

Mr Chan was pleased but he felt that although the team had won, there was still a lot of areas that needed sharpening. His analysis for the match was that the centre was strong and when the group was leading, the confidence level went up and the boys were able to perform at their optimal. It was again a psychological test; One that is of the mind. That said, he still recommends more training and discpline in the players. Nevertheless, it was a great morale booster.

Our Sec 1 boys again exceeded our expectations by delivering a great performance .Even Mr Chan was impressed with their skills and discipline. They won the game without any effort and looked set for greater achievements. Keep it up juniors!

Game details:

Held in Hougang Secondary 20/02/09

C boys 85 / 24
Top scorers : Jerron and Danial

Sec 1 boys 45 / 24

Sec 1 friendly match

The Sec 1 boys gave us a pleasant surprise that day. They easily took down the team from Nan chiau Sec within a mere 20 mins. Our Sec 1s were agile and quick-thinking, but most importantly they were focused and made good use of every opportunity that presented itself to score. The camaraderie between the players was also an important factor in their win.
You have shown great potential. I look forward to more exciting matches from you!

C boys VS Nan Chiau High 13/02/09

Mr Chan briefing our boys before the match
Our Sec 1 basketballers

The match started about 3pm and it was doomed from the start. The Nan Chiau players were disciplined, focused and in complete control. Our team on the other hand, gave a lacklustre performance, one totally lacking in confidence and team spirit. They were defeated even before they began, in their minds. There was no fight at all.
The team needs to build themselves up in a few areas; they need to believe in themselves but in order to do so, they must master the skills 1st which will in turn lead to an increase in confidence. They need to synergise as a team but to do so they need to know their team members well and help each other. They need to be more reflective and respond to situation instead of reacting (putting blame on others instead of seeing where you have gone wrong). This will in turn lead to more cohesion and quality performance.
Discipline + Skills + Right mindset + Right Attitude + Teamwork = Champions!
I hope to see them having all the above in their training sessions and coming matches. All the best for your match against Hougang Secondary this Thursday!
